·       Identified, created, and maintained alliances that created substantial business impact.  Work in position generated over $15M in value annually including $2M in direct revenue generation through reseller agreements and sponsorships for Retek’s user conference. 

·       Provided overall direction and management of alliances including Strategic, Marketing, Consulting, Influencer, Value-Added-Reseller, and OEM agreements. 

·       Developed a successful record of accomplishment for establishing and maintaining alliances and a proven ability to work with internal and external senior executives to develop and enhance alliances including the negotiation of strategic initiatives with companies such as IBM, Oracle, Sun, HP, and Business Objects. 

·       Created business plans and marketing strategies for current and prospective alliances.  Performed research for valuation of proposed alliances. 

·       Provided unique insight derived from six years of direct experience in the retail software industry, including extensive involvement in  all technology areas related to the development of retail software solutions including development tools, performance tools, application servers, middleware, reporting tools, optimization software, and other relevant hardware and software.

·       Alliances managed included the following: IBM, Accenture, Oracle, HP, Sun, Intel, Teradata, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, SeeBeyond, Connect3, AppWorx, AVT, Wavelink, Symbol, Intermec, PSC, Skillnet, TCS, and Cognizant.

 

Development Project Manager - November 1999- July 2001

·       Designed, developed, tested, marketed, and delivered the first advanced subscription/reporting tool for www.retail.com using MicroStrategy software and development tools.  The project involved the management of a six-person development team consisting of consultants from Andersen Consulting and MicroStrategy as well as developers from Retek.

·       Managed a development team of five individuals to create a central user interface for Retek application launching and information viewing.  This project used an object-oriented development methodology in conjunction with Java development.

·       Coordinated application integration development efforts with relevant development groups for over 15 applications

·       Managed the development effort of developers from and Retek and RetailExchange to create an end-to-end transfer of user information from retail.com to RetailExchange.  Technologies involved in this process included WebMethods, XML, back-end extraction routines, and HTML user interface components.

Senior Consultant - Data Warehouse Development

·       Participated as front-end technical lead in a stress test of a large customer management database.

·       Managed relationship with server maintenance group as it related to the installation, testing, and support of the production NT hardware associated with the reporting tool. 

·       Provided support for the front-end reporting application

·       Managed a five-person team in the development of back-end extracts and front-end reports for the mobile telephone component of a data warehouse for customer management.

·       Gathered requirements from disparate service groups to develop new reports for the extended customer management reporting.

Research Manager - Tools Development/Technology Research • November 1997 – 1998

·       Participated in beta programs sponsored by MicroStrategy and Oracle and forged partnerships with other software vendors.

·       Obtained additional publicity for Retek through participation in marketing efforts performed by MicroStrategy and Oracle.

·       Designed and performed tests related to the wide-area network deployment of the Retek enterprise.  The resulting document has been presented to existing and potential clients around the world and has positively affected the acquisition of several new clients.

·       Lead a team of five developers for two months in the web conversion of merchandise management system involving over 200 Oracle forms.

·       Created and presented demonstrations to initial prospects including several high profile clients.  Product demonstrations and prototypes were used at several major conferences including RISCON and National Retail Federation.

 

Programmer/Analyst - Data Warehouse Development • September 1996 - 1997

·       Designed and developed one of the industry’s first vertical retail data warehouse applications for Retek Information Systems on an Oracle database providing analysis of promotions, sales, inventory, and vendor performance.

·       Designed and supervised the development of the first web-deployed interface for the Retek Data Warehouse.
